AndrewD Posted September 17, 2002 Share Posted September 17, 2002 At Folembray on Saturday I had a couple of instances when the car would not start. Heard fuel pump whirring, then nothing, just a nice "click". Push start and all was ok. Let it cool down and it would start fine. It's not done this before and I understand it might be something to do with the heat affecting the solenoid? Anybody had this before, and what's the cure? Paul Richards. Posted September 17, 2002 Share Posted September 17, 2002 Andrew Suggest you carry out a search under "STARTER" - there have been a number of problems and cures. If your car is a K series with the solenoid beneath the starter, suggest you look at the thread I put on dated 27.6.02 - K Series starter - The cure? If you want to try fitting a relay, it will cost around £5 or £6 for the bits - much cheaper than a new starter!!! If you want wiring details, post here or drop me an e-mail. Paul R.
