eagle
Hi all, For (hopefully) a summer of blatting and maybe even a holiday blat somewhere, I am looking to buy a half hood and a draught excluder/reducer (although I might have a go at making the latter myself just for s**ts and giggles). I'm not too fussed over which version of half hood, as long as it fits my car then it should do the job from what I've heard. I'd also consider one of those RE bags if someone had one available too. My car is a 1999 live axle Classic with FIA roll bar (single diagonal) and cloth S3 seats. Thanks, Andy
Supersprint1988
Andy There are two SBFS half hoods on ebay for the moment Nothing to do with me. Cheers Carsten
eagle
Carsten, thanks for the heads up. I'm keeping a keen eye on them but the first one is about to finish in the £140-£150 region and I reckon that as club members, we can get them for £155 for a Retro and £185 for a Classic using our club and online order discount. I think I might end up ordering a new one at this rate..! Andy
Bone Rat
Hi, if you've got the time & inclination there's a new half hood somewhere on the main street in Ton Pentre, Rhondda. Forgot to do the little straps up & it shot off on Saturday. Expensive lesson ☹️ Andy
eagle
Ouch!!! Aren't you able to go and collect it? Maybe one of the ebay ones is yours...?
Bone Rat
Tried driving up & down the road a few times looking for it. The combination of the loud exhaust, narrow terraced street, an English reg plate (from Caterham) & International Day told me it was time to leave. Open car, chip shops & pubs - never a good mix. Fully expect its providing waterproofing for a pigeon loft by now... Andy
eagle
That's terrible! I take it they weren't very accomodating in that case...? Edited by - eagle on 11 Mar 2011 13:46:

Ivaan
I should have a half hood available after Wightblat. Yours for £90. If the weather's good you can have it that weekend, or if you're not coming perhaps GONADS? If it's P***ing down, I'll post it from home 😬 Blatmail me. Stationary M25 Traveller
I am waiting for some insect mesh in black to arrive at our local garden centre. Going to try and fabricate a mesh screen that fills the roll bar, so it catches all the spray when the HH is fitted, and the drips fall on the boot cover, not behind the seats. Due next week. eagle
Sounds like a good idea. I recently ordered some wind break mesh but I reckon you could get a bumblebee through the mesh so I'm not sure it's much cop! Keep us posted on how it goes...
