Revival of Dyrham Park Hillclimb

Just received the folowing e-mail from the Bristol Motor Club -

 

I hope you have received Driving Mirror Issue No 2 - if not, it's on its way and will reach you very soon. In it I report on a meeting we had with the National Trust to discuss the proposed revival of the hillclimb at Dyrham Park. I described the mood of the meeting as positive, but I didn't realise just how positive: a few days later I had a phone call from the Operations Manager to let me know that the Trust has agreed to foot the bill for resurfacing the damaged part of the drive, and confirming the event in our calendar on the agreed date, 2nd October 2011! We have another meeting next week to agree the precise terms, but I am confident that we will reach agreement, such is the enthusiasm shown by the local National Trust people.

 

Cracking venue - well done Bristol Motor Club and the National Trust.

I visited Dyrham as a NT member last year and thought it would make an excellent hillclimb venue - I didn't realise it had been used in the past

 

What other NT properties would be good venues? -
