Sheds Moderator
Right, I'll never build it so here goes: Almost everything you will need to build a model speedboat, 30" long x 10" wide. Fibreglass hull, unused, black. 2 channel R/C gear, unused, boxed. (Ripmax Futaba 27MHz) Marine Webra 40 glow engine, boxed, unused, run once (it was terrifying!) Accessories like engine mountings, prop shaft, rudder, various linkages, silencer, coolant arrangement. I bought all this as a kid in the 80s, since then it has been waiting for someone to "get round to it" and it's a shame it's not used. In Leeds, pics on request. £150 inc postage in UK. A teenage boy would drool over this, I know I did at 14. Edited by - batteredoldsupersport on 6 Dec 2011 09:31:
Sheds Moderator
OK, maybe a bit ambitious on price. How about £130, posted to your door? The motor alone is a thing of beauty, they go for £70-80 and this one is new in its box. The RC gear is £40-50, again new, so the rest of it is pretty well free. A great project for a teenager. Sheds Moderator
Trying this again, it would make a great christmas present and winter build project.
The Laddie
Hey BOSS, I feel frivolous. First Dibs please. Can you send pics
Sheds Moderator
You are on Laddie, it's a lovely thing. If you send me a normal email I'll send them, not sure if blatmail supports pics. I am at corcoranDOTstephenATgmail.com, you know how to turn that into an address but the spambots and exiled crown princes with millions of dollars don't. Sheds Moderator
Sale agreed, it's a shame I never built it. This really is a proper item, it will make a fantastic model.
TobyCoulson
Well done on selling it. This has now got me thinking into selling a similar item albeit steam powered.

Gridgway
Very upsetting! I really wanted it. But had to give in when the local experts (Dave Charles) pointed out there was nowhere that allowed real engines on the water any more. Englishmaninwales
Marine Webra 40 glow engine, boxed, unused, run once (it was terrifying!) Nah! That's a baby, Webra Speed 61 (10cc) with rear disc induction with 1.2 BHP on tap really gets the boat going.... Still got two of these engines, installed in their hulls, from the late 1970's and from time to time still get a run out!
