puremalt
With the risk of sounding dense always uppermost I plan an oil change this w/end. My local Halfrauds has only propriety brands or Mobil 1 at a tenner or so a litre. We haver done oil to death, and comma has been recommended to me, 5 or 10W 40; but where do I get it. My local (good) factors only has Valvoline. I surely don't have to send off for it to Burton or someone. BTW I live in Cardiff, which is a reasonably sized city. and its for a 1700 Xflow Dave Robertson

oilyhands
I can get good quality (GM) synthetic 5-40W oil at £15 per 5 litres locally if anyone is interested and lives locally enough. Oily
AndreK
Nash Vauxhall, Sloper Road, Cardiff. Vauxhall branded (I think it is Millers in disguise) full synthetic 5W/40 at around £40 for a 25, yes 25 litre drum. This is around £8 for an oil change!!! *smile*
Dirty Den
Hi Dave - Roger King recommended Mobil 1 Motorsport (15w50) here so that's what I've more or less been using since I've had my 7. Camberley Auto Factors (my local auto factors place) sells it for 33 quid for 4 litres, IIRC. Den 😬 - Self portrait - still unable to remove the smile! puremalt
Thanks everyone. Got Valvoline fully synthetic 5W 40 and can't believe how much quieter the car is! Almost disappointingly quiet (ah the extrovert in me speaks) Dave Robertson
