Alan Bowler
Not tried such low profile tyres before - should they be around 17/18 or a bit more? Thx AB

Nigel Fox
I always ran that sort of figure. I was hopelessly slow though. Full time class 4 Zetec
Alan Bowler
Thanks guys. Slippery roads, 22psi, release agent and an itchy right foot nearly had me parked backwards in the neighbours front garden yesterday 😳 I want my 539s back. Mark Durrant
nearly had me parked backwards in the neighbours front garden yesterday This brings back memories of you trying to take Paddock bend at Curborough in the wet 😳 😬
Mattj
I knew the tyres couldn't handle all that DVA power you had! Still, doesn't sound as bad as our first test drive on the stunners, when muggins only placed the nuts on the ends of the threads for one wheel and forgot to do them up. Grinding to a halt from 20mph and the wheel finally stopped 200m up the road. Dad NOT impressed
Jon Ward
Hi Alan, Clearly the above recommendation is for a Class 1 car. For Class 2 you will need to at least double those figures to a minimum of 34 psi front and rear, maybe higher if it’s wet Hope that helps ....(me that is, not you) Matt, No problem to torque up the wheels for you before your 1st timed run – just give me a shout Br, Jon
Alan Bowler
Welcome to class 2 Jon. I'm sure we're all pleased that you will be joining us 😶🌫️ I'll try 40psi on the back and 15psi on the front. Matt - DVA power is so last year. Did you miss out on the 1800 Zetec bulk buy? Happy to help adjust YOUR tyre pressures this year during the lunchbreak. AB
Support Team rob spencer Posted January 18, 2011 Support Team Share Posted January 18, 2011 Alan Certainly Jon is much nearer the correct pressures than the others 😶🌫️ And Stunners get their bestist grip from a nice long gentle running in period. About a season should do it - before the dreaded MSA asterisk *cry*comes into force next year - maybe! Rob
