Wrightpayne
Taking off Apollo and going drysump. Just wondered if there are any innovative suggestions for blocking hole in camcover. Yeah I can chuck a nut and bolt in with a copper washer just wondered if there was a more elequent solution? Are covers machined to fit a specific head or could I swap camcovers? Also will it weld? myothercarsa2cv
Does the wet sump K-series have this take off? If not, you could possibly persuade the person you sell the Apollo to, to swap cam covers as well. (possibly looking for an Apollo... ) John _________________________ myothercarsa2cv Bugsy: '82 2cv6 😬 Talloulah '08 1.6K Classic
oilyhands
It shouldnt be that difficult to fill the hole with epoxy if you back it up inside with an aluminium patch. A dab of balck paint would render it almost invisible. Oily
Wrightpayne
John, I'll be looking to sell my apollo kit as soon as I have my dry sump kit - Yes you do have to drill the cam cover so a swap could be in order!! Let me know if you are interested. Regards Ian
myothercarsa2cv
Is it EU3? Does it matter? John _________________________ myothercarsa2cv Bugsy: '82 2cv6 😬 Talloulah '08 1.6K Classic
Stationary M25 Traveller
Doesn't make any difference ....... just involves oil circulation. edit ... aah .... brain engaged ....... fit of cam cover. Blame cold weather. Must go and switch the heating on ! Edited by - Stationary M25 Traveller on 21 Dec 2010 12:52:
Dignity
Hi John, If you are fitting a pre owned apollo then its a good idea to buy a new Sandwich plate oil seal. CC say they dont do them so I bought mine from Think Auto Part no.569 or 569a? Cost 70p less 15% club discount plus vat and postage. Its also worth considering fitting a one way valve to the braided top hose if it doesn't already have one. Regards Dignity
