Mowerman
Richard...Sorry about the redundancy, shame you can't get it up and running.... In the event no one buys it as it is....might be worth stripping it...sad as it would be!! In which case I'll be interested in the gearbox and LSD Cheers
Andrew G
Sad to hear about the redundancy and that you're unable to get the car back on the road ☹️. If you do decide to split i would definately be interested in the aeroscreen and mirrors and possibly the windscreen as well. Cheers Andrew R300 XX

jonboylaw
I am tempted as a new project but funds are targeted for other things at the moment. Quick estimate would be about £6k to get this back as new (if doing it all yourself).. So a worthy prospect.. As the others say, probably worth more than your figure in parts, but do you want the pain of stripping, cleaning, listing, selling/posting etc. I am gutted for you that you can't now rebuild her as it is an amazing feeling to strip, rebuild and drive again. Good luck with job hunting, maybe post in chit chat with your credentials to see if anyone knows of anything going. Richard Hughes
Thanks all, i'd rather not break it as I don't think I could bear to do it! Would rather sell complete and see it back on the road
Gridgway
Hi Richard, I might be interested. Can you tell me in what part of the country the car is for viewing purposes please? When you say needs 1/2 chassis, is that a long front end? Also what is cat 4? Is that the same as Cat D? Thanks Graham
Harry Flatters
Richard, sorry to hear about the car and now the job situation. I hope 2012 brings happier times to you. *arrowright*Harry 'Haka' Flatters - 263bhp of VX joy *arrowright* AKA Steve Mell - Su77on Se7ener
Dutchy
I would think a self rebuild could be done for nearer £3.5k or maybe a bit less, based on the info. Could be a great project for someone! Steve
Geoff Wilcx
Looking for a project just now so could be very interested.....Can you please advise what a Cat 4 is - I'm assuming its the same as a CAT D... if not does this show on the Log Book....also appreciate that pictures may be meaningless but still could you email me some anyway to ponder. I'll BM you my email address.......Many thanks Upgrades - a screaming DVA KV05+something more Radical www.radicalroadcars.com www.geoffwilcoxphotography.co.uk Edited by - Geoff Wilcx on 17 Dec 2010 09:37:
jonboylaw
Edit: Aparently a new long front can be done without a total strip so my inital estimate is a tad high, probably cut it back by £2k so £3k-£4k to fix. Malc Dudley
More like 13 to 14K if it is cat D I would be interested but i am afraid not at £8500. Best of luck i am sure someone will pay it. dragged along by 195 horses
Richard Hughes
Thanks all, checked the details, the car is cat d so nothing on the log book, It may need a long front end but Bruce at Arch said there may be other possibilities depending on what he found, the steering rack crossmember is bent along with the bottom chassis tube and wishbone mounts. Richard Hughes
Also, car is just outside of Warlingham, pretty close to Caterham

Mavic82
Best of luck selling our car and hope it gets rebuilt and enjoyed again. Quick point though, Cat D does show on the records as ( can't remember the exact terms but something like) condition alert - recorded total loss. After a rebuild and an inspection the vehicle can be calssified as condition verified - still shows a total loss but that is has been repaired and inspected to show it has been repaired correctly. The good old days of having the record expunged have gone ☹️ Good buy for someone though.
