flexible brake hose -> caliper; slight leak

As above. Can't stop a very small weep from somewhere around the lower washer, where the banjo bolt goes into the caliper.

 

Apart from trying subtly different washers, with subtly different torques, is there anything else I can do to try to stem the (gentle) flow?

Is this a new build, or a leak that has developed on an older car ? Check the mating faces that the washer sits against on the caliper and the bolt. Look for scratches on the washer. If a new build, it it actually coming from the caliper itself ... recalling similar recent posts.

When I looked, the mating face on the caliper looked ok, but I suppose I didn't look that carefully...

If they are copper washers, anneal them and try again.

Heat it up and then drop it in a bowl of water?

I had it leak at this point once caused by damaged thread on the caliper after a crash.

 

Sent it back to AP and they heli-coiled the thread which now is as good as new.

 

Hope it isn't as serious for you, but there is a solution if you need it.

Annealing - yes you can do that with copper, although I just let them cool naturally.
