Sgt Pepper
With more horses available for next year 😬 (which will boot me into Class 4) I assume that it would be recommended to change from 6" rears? So, if I'm running 215s what is recommended; 7" or 8" rims for the rears? Currently powered by Fresh air ☹️ 😬
Adrian Williams
7.5" is perfect. 7", 8" or even 8.5" will also work. Adrian
Area Representative Richard Price Posted October 31, 2010 Area Representative Share Posted October 31, 2010 So, if I'm running 215s what is recommended; 7" or 8" rims for the rears? Why only the rears 🤔 I've been running 215's all around, on 7.5's all around. They seem to work OK
Sgt Pepper
Adrian, Thanks for the info Richard, I was under the impression that with the standard wings/wings stays I wouldn't be able to run anything wider than 6" on the fronts. Support Team Shaun_E Posted November 1, 2010 Support Team Share Posted November 1, 2010 Chris - you will need wider front wings to run 215 tyres and wheels of the correct offset. If you look on the Kumho website, the optimum width for 215 tyres is 8" but most of us are running them on 7.5" so either will do. Sgt Pepper
Shaun, Thanks for that, the budget has already been blown out of the water by the Zetec conversion, so I'll be sticking with 6" at the front then. Area Representative Richard Price Posted November 1, 2010 Area Representative Share Posted November 1, 2010 I've used standard wings this year. With modified stays, standard wings can be just about made to fit.
