Naive Question - X flow sump

Julian Bradley

Recommended Posts

I run my 1700 X flow on 14" Revolution alloys. Although I avoid the various tank traps installed in S. Hertfordshire, years of scraping and bashing the sump caused it to give way. 🙆🏻 Lucky, lucky Ratrace.

Apart from the dry sump option, is there any way of protecting it? - & how much IS a dry sump? Does it improve performance significantly?

All advice gratefully appreciated! See, it's got me all tautological.....

The parts department at caterham were selling dry sump kits for crossflow for about £600 , not sure if there still are Just been and had a look yes they are still selling a ds.kit but i got the price wrong its £699. The gain is going to be constant oil supply when cornering hard, and i have seen the oil gauge drop a couple of times just recently on my crossflow very worrying ☹️Don,t forget the added ground clearance *thumbup*

PS. I also split my sump recently and need a quick repair so replaced it with a new standard sump from Redline £90......
