Quoting Mad Hatter:
*arrowup*Thank you

I was joking about the Rotrex though, with the power curve being so smooth it should be great for getting the power down which might be compromised if i switch to forced induction

I need a rest from it too, this upgrading lark takes it out of you

Time to get back to some driving, then plan stage 2

How is yours going ?

Projects like this are tough, especially if you are physically doing the build as well as planning and sourcing all the parts. Mine has had a few mods over the winter - some improved SC mounts, heat shields, better air filter location and cold air supply, shift lights, custom tonneau, etc. The big problem on our initial running was fuel pressure - I think this is down to needing a relay to power the pump properly. We will see. Also had the silencer re-packed and some reverse cones shoved up my exhaust *eek*

Yours will be different Jason

I wouldn't worry my motor had completed enough cycles to be right at the point were a faulty spring will let go

But let's not get ahead of ourselves

I will know more by the end of today when it's in bits

Failed valve spring

Damaged follower

Broken and bent intake valve

Bent exhaust valve

Dented piston *eek*

Slight damage to head and valve seat

Spring being sent away for testing

Damage minimal considering it went at 6500 rpm

Bloody strong pstons too as it punched the valve into the port

Should all be sorted in a couple of weeks *thumbup*

Thats it the Duratec is back in the back of the van with a whole raft of redesigned and upgraded parts.

Valve lift has been reduced by 0.5mm and the inlet cam is a new design

Replaced all the valve springs with a new duplex type

Replaced bent valves

Replaced all pistons with a new improved set

Compression has been increased

New cam chain

Etc

A big Thank You has to go out to Simon Armstrong at Ultimate Performance for sorting out the engine after a spring failure at the Isle Of Man

He stripped, assessed, repaired, redesigned and rebuilt the motor without a quibble,a true professional

If you want an engine built or any cylinder head work done Simon is the guy to speak to *thumbup*

Cant wait to get it back in the YOB
