What I can't understand is why you didn't take the sage advice given to you and get that well known paragon of all things great of an engine - the VX - for your car. It would have produced more horsepower for half the price and has done so for 25 years. Still that's why I'm an idiot I'm just not clever enough to understand why something that cost £75K in a touring car can now be had for £4k and still be brilliant *confused*.

I was speaking to track & Road the other day and he was telling me how SBD has managed to get over 300 bhp out a 2.0 D with a standard crank and not so wild cams. So I'm sure they will perform well but they might look a bit strange because the filter backplate/clips looks like it could be on the outside of the bonnet??

Just been chatting to Steve at SBD as i am going for his high spec taper throttle bodies

He suggested tuning the ram pipe lengths for max power at 8000 rpm

With the extra torque it should be going like a bat out of hell by 8000 rpm, which would be a safe/conservative redline
