R500 Mbe MOT mapping and password

Hi,

I'm a froggy, so sorry for my poor English, I'll do my best 😶‍🌫️

I have just sold my lovely JPE and and buy a R500 Rover (year 2000).

As I want to register it in France, I need to pass the fuel emission tests like your MOT.

I have a catalyst and a MBE ECu 967EB serial 00014792, soft 967bc474.

I have read on this forum that a special mapping is avalaible (with easymap5 Sbd), so I need it with the two password (low and high)

I have seen too that how to do a correct setup of the Rb's (FAq Minister power) with a Airflow meter (Did you know where to buy it ?).

Can you give me too the values that you obtain with this special map (Lambda, CO idle and fast idle) .

Many thanks

Yvan

Hi Yvan,

I obtained my air flow meter here

From what I gather, the passwords are not public domain, but someone may be able to help you, or you buy a blank ECU from SBD here with basic map and rolling-road setup yourself, then it will be perfect.

The Lambda and CO for our MOT are:-

Lambda 0.67-1.03

Hc <200 ppm

Co <0.2 @ fast idle (2500-300 rpm)

Co <0.3 @ idle

Re,

Many thanks for the link of the airflow meter.

I have ask CCUk about the mapping and the password (after the answer from SBD, they can give me only the low password, to know the high, I need a code Pin from the ECU).

The values for a R500's mot seems to be different (more tolerance)

7 Faq Mot

I'm happy if a R500's owner can give me the values of his car, I don't find any values on the mot certificate.

Hi,

The for hight level easymap is OK but now, I must modify my mapping and I need the Caterham's Pin Code.

I have ask CCUK but they don't want to give me the password

I have try 1111 (from sbd supllier), but it is the wrong code.

I have use too a sniffer port, but it is too difficult for me.

The other solution is to have an uncoded chipfile, so if someone have a copy (****.ECC)

I can't remember the pin code, but suffice to say I spent ages trying to hack it, and was successful. Its in the 8000 range and contains all even numbers - its something like 8264, 8624 etc....

Well Regin informs me that being able to alter ECU settings might invalidate the EU homolegation on the car.

Quite why this is when there are only 9999 possible combinations - or you can completely overwrite the map, I do not understand. Whe I was in a hurry to crack it, I spent an afternoon with someone writing some code to hack the pin number in about 2 hours.

But Regin is a good man so I shall respect his wishes. If anyone who is not from Denmark wants to know it, Blatmail me.
