jackb_ms
Hi On the clutch cover on my 1.8 vvc engine there is this part number LC036D 008A I have searched on Caterham's website to check which plate is required to no avail. Does someone know what is the plate needed for that cover? Cheers Jack Emily, The Very Yellow
Stationary M25 Traveller
I bought an AP clutch plate and cover from Redline for my 2002 1.8 VVC ...... give them a call. Don't forget to replace the CRB whenever you have the clutch apart !!!
jackb_ms
Cheers I will give them a call tomorow, the only problem is that it was one of the first VVC engine fitted to a Caterham back in 1996 so it migh be abit different Jack Emily, The Very Yellow

Support Team Shaun_E Posted August 17, 2010 Support Team Share Posted August 17, 2010 Is this with a 5 speed or 6 speed box? My car is an early Superlight (number 32) and was originally fitted with a Rover clutch using a different input shaft - apparently the first 50 or so 6 speed boxes were built like this. In order to use the standard Caterham AP clutch I had to have the input shaft and nose casing replaced on the gearbox. This could possible be the case with a 5 speed as well although it seems less likely. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
jackb_ms
It's a 5 speed gear box. I found something interesting on CC website, clutch Stop - Quinton Hazel Clutch. and I think it's what I have bolted to the bell housing. Time to call redline Jack Emily, The Very Yellow

Rich N
How did the clutch and flywheel look when you had the cover plate off? And how many miles had they done?
