Large Chromed Washer For Old-Style Locking Spare Wheel Bolt

Mort

Recommended Posts

My old 1986 Super Sprint had a locking spare wheel bolt that held the spare to the body using a large chromed washer that fitted over the centre of the spare wheel. Caterham no longer supply this type of bolt, which was standard before the Y-Bracket was produced, so I'm in the process of making up my own.

The only bit that I am missing (apart from fabricating a longer bolt) is the large chromed penny washer (approx 3" across) that was sculpted to cover the hole in the centre of the wheel and prevent it from being removed when the lock was in place.

Does anyone have one of these knocking about in the garage - either as a spare or as a result of removing the spare carrier?

I have both the bolt and the washer if you're interested.

Nick,

Blatmail is sent to my work email. I'm on holiday for two weeks, so I won't be picking up emails from there. Send again to:

Nick,

I've not received an email from you yet, which is puzzling.

Yes, very strange. Didn't have any undeliverable messages the last time around.

I have re-sent to your alternative address. You should have received it by now. If you haven't then let me know, and I'll try sending it from another address in case the problem is my end.

Regards

Nick,

They'll be in the post tomorrow when I take a break from painting the dining room. Stick a cheque in the post when you get them, I'll put my address inside the Jiffy.
