Westfield
Can anyone give me any advice on how to set the damper settings up on my car? I have freed off the adjuster screws on the Spax shockers on the car and in doing so lost the settings. Is there a scientific method? Thanks Tony
Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted September 2, 2002 Leadership Team Share Posted September 2, 2002 Easy. Firstly, wind them back all the way anti-clockwise, at which point the valves are fully opened and you are at the point of minimum damping. As you turn them clockwise to tighten them up, you will begin to feel the "clicks" - the first couple are normally rather indistinct, but become clearer after the first couple. I find that my car works best with the fronts stiffer than the back by about two clicks - I run 6 front 4 back, but that's a matter of personal preference. All the best - Michael. Graham Sewell
When trying to adjust mine, the n/s/f adjuster was siezed . Is there an easy way to free it up so that I can try alternate settings. My current settings are softest all round (as far as I can tell)... Low tech luddite - xflow and proud! Jason Plato
I have an excellent flow chart from Bilstien that takes you throu the adjustable damper set up routine , and then handling diagnosis . Send me your address off line and I'll post you a copy . Cheers Dave
Luke Beaumont
Dave, if there's any way you can scan/digitise that flowchart, I'd be supremely grateful for an email. Or if you were feeling generous enough to post me a hardcopy I'll scan it & stick it on me website.
