Garth
At my Post build check (125 Roadsport - standard dash layout) I asked CC to look at my rev counter as it 'spikes' *eek*regularly. They told me this was normal! Cannot see why it should do this if everything is working properly?? atlast
Sinbad
Garth - I have a 2009 factory buit RoadSport and my rev counter will also show these blips when idling. I have never been overly concerned, but it is curious. A wise man once said, never discuss philosophy or politics in a disco environment.
Garth
Thanks Paul - does it only do it at idle? I have not checked whether mine does it at higher revs- Will do so shortly atlast

charlie_pank
My rev counter has never done it, sounds like a brush off to me. Check the dip switches on the back are set correctly for your ECU - eg wasted spark requires different settings to distributor feed etc... back here because I want to be. jeffi
Yes my new build SV150 tacho blips when idling. I will stick an oscilloscope on the input to see if the signal is actually spiking or it's just the flakey design of the gauge. However, my speedo has now packed up, which i'll post about separately....
charlie_pank
When your speedo packs up, it's normally the mechanical drive that sticks out of the gearbox at a jaunty angle. back here because I want to be.

Garth
Thanks for the responses - be interested to hear what readings you get on the oscilloscope jeffi and good luck with the speedo. When is your IVA? I will just keep an eye on the spike! atlast
