yokohama tyre pressures

help? what pressure should I be running for track use in Yoko A021s - the intermediate tyre. I know they are not ideal but its what I've got so I need to make the best of them. I rang yokohama yesterday and they quoted 28 cold.. then they phoned me back and said 19 cold!! So thats clear then. I felt subjectively quicker round Goodwood at the lower pressure but the car handled better at the higher pressure (thats the bog standard suspension's fault - not the tyres). Also, should the presures be different front and rear? *confused*

18 cold should be a reasonable place to start.

measure the pressures when hot. they should be 22 ish and be fairly even in temperature across the tyre. too hot in the middle means lower the pressure and vice versa.

too hot on the inside is too much camber and vice versa.

Start at 18 all round, then see how they wear.

Hot track days have seen me dropping them to 11-12psi cold and still getting more wear on the middle.

18s will probably suit perfectly well on the road though.

Incidentally, no need to apologise for 21Rs. They are extremely good tyres.
