Crystal Palace - results and video

Can't do Epynt and can't wait till Castle Combe so I'm off to Crystal Palace to try my luck at a non-L7C event.

Only 4 others in my class (road going specialist production cars 1977 to present...) provided the scrutineers don't question the aeroscreens.

Strangely enough one of the other cars is another x/flow as well as a Lancia 037 Stradale, a Morgan Plus 8 and a Sylva Phoenix.

Course is only 600m (so that'll be a point, squirt and a few turns *eek*) although it does use bits of the old 1937-39 circuit.

At least it's only 9 miles away from me so no having to get up at silly o'clock *thumbup*

Just taken an excited call from my 10 year old Daughter who is on a Girl Guides weekend in London - been inside Buck House, been to Downing Street, be on the Londaon eye but best of all she is watching Caterhams race at Crystal Palace 😬

Gary, you've trained your daughter well to recognise Caterhams as there were only 2 of us there together with a rather nice 1959 Series 1A. Glad she had a good time.

Shock, horror, sensation - I managed a 1st in Class (my first 😬) beating the Morgan by 2.73s *thumbup* [my time 39.52s]. The 'track' though short (700m) was interesting (uphill start, sharp left-hander, short straight with right-hand kink, hairpin, short straight, chicane, short straight, long right-hander) and not very grippy especially around North Tower Crescent, I certainly didn't expect my lowly powered 7 to wheelspin in 3rd *eek*. There's plenty of Armco (they installed 38 tonnes of it for the event) and no run-off!!!

When I get a moment I'll upload some footage onto YouTube......
