Manfrotto pro-roll-bar track-day ball adjustable camera/video camera clamp

I have a genuine Manfrotto roll-bar clamp to fit the 7 roll bar: ideal for recording your track day experiences. I bought this a couple of years ago and have only used it 3 times. It is beautifully Italian engineering with loads of adjustment, really strong/stable and can be used for clamping cameras to other things too. selling for £50+delivery at cost (around a fiver).

Will this suit a medium sized SLR or is it designed for lighter cameras & bullet cams? If so Im tempted so I can try some from the roll bar photography with my remote control camera release.
