Fitting side impact protection

I am going to fit a side impact bar and wheel intrusion bar on the driver's side of my car and could do with some fitting advice.

As far as I can tell, there should be a mounting point for the wheel intrusion bar which is where the petty strut would go on a LHD car. I know the other end goes to the A-frame mounting point but on my car which is the latest chassis, the A-frame mounts under the chassis, not above as on older cars so I'm curious as to whether it will all fit OK.

The side impact bar seems to need me to drill holes through the cross chassis member from below and I think I also have to remove the metal support (or at least bend it)for what I suppose would be a hood thing at the base of the FIA bar? - it interferes with the fir when I present the bar to it.

Does anyone have any advice on fitting before I drill through the outside panel of the car in the wrong place. It looks as though the side impact bar will rest against the plate of the wheel intrusion bar once fitted ?

Thanks for any advice.
