terryp
Just about to get together a tool roll and a few spanners as I want to go for longer trips! My car is a 1985 Supersprint does that mean I will have to carry both spanner types - metric & imperial? The Xflow bits are imperial but small nuts on the car seem to be metric? What does anyone else carry? Thanks Terry Lotus Elan +2 S130/4 Caterham Seven 12th April 2010!!!!! jonboylaw
What he says.... *thumbup* You could pack all the tools in the world and still find out that the thing that stops you requires the one tool you aren't carrying...
Ian B
If you can't fix it with cable ties or gaffer tape, then use the RAC card Ian - Slightly Vider SVelte SuperVeloce model 😬 - Joint AR for North Kent - Area details and calendar here

CageyH
I will be impressed if the RAC come to France to fix our cars if they break down.... Only dead fish go with the flow....!
shn7
Simple answer to that. Don't go to France *tongue* 😬 Or as I did when I went to Spain in my first Seven extend coverage to Europe and when it couldn't be fixed locally see it transported back to blighty. Steve. sjmmarsh
Having hit a pheasant with one of my headlights last year and having it break off, but still attached by the cables I can confirm that having no tools and only ONE zip tie (found in the corner of the boot) with me was enough to get me the 10 miles back home without the lamp fouling the wheels. Oh, how I wished I had had some gaffer tape. It would have been much simpler if I had. Steve

jakeandlizzy
small flashlight Allen (hex) key set A big flat screwdriver or bar for prying or bending when things go wrong Spare bottle of beer for when you can't fix the problem and waiting for the AA guy
Grubbster
I'd add tyreweld, some wire cutters (for snipping tywraps or wire), spare throttle and clutch cables, fuses, an exhaust bobbin, small selection of spanners, latex gloves or hand wipes and a tow rope! There are a lot of minor things that could be fixed easily without the need to call out and wait for RAC/AA. You can't cover every eventuality but worth carrying a few kilos just in case. Grubbster
Also I have some extra bits that I carry specific to work I have recently done on the dar - for instance when i replaced all my hoses with silicone ones recently it took a while before I was confident that there were no leaks so I made sure I had whatever tools necessary to access each clamp (and needed them!)
