I race in the Quaife Intermarque, full entry list is at Rod Birley's website for the upcoming race at Mallory (will be live on Motors TV btw...)

But in summary, a couple of Caterham 1.6 Sigmas (including mine), a bike engineed Caterham, 10 2 litre Tigers, and half a dozen Silhouette cars plus some varied others.

Plenty of variety so you find lots to race against, I usually end up halfway through the Tiger field, and the Silouettes are generally out front (although Doug Newman's bike engined Caterham beat them all at Snetteron).

I race in Intermarques too with John *arrowup* , well, I did last year anyway. Money this year has been spent on other things sadly, but will be joining in a couple of races later on this year.

It's cheap to register for the series, and the entry fees are good value as double headers and usually on a single day. The mixture of cars and circuits used created interesting duels. John and I have had a few battles together and with the Tigers. We have also been put in with the tintops on occasion.

How are you getting on so far this year John?

LSD/widetrack/adjustable shocks has made a difference this year - not getting the understeer I was last year, car feels much more stable and I took 2 seconds off my previous best at Brands in first outing. (Combination of better traction and feeling more comfortable to be able to push things harder)

Will be interesting to see how Snetterton goes next month timewise - when do you think you'll be able to join us?

Well, on the one hand I am pleased your times are improving mate, on the other, well, I'm going to have to drive harder still to keep up! *eek*

I should have my 1.6 engine and 6 speed box in by end of June, so would like to enter rounds from then. Much depends on how many Toyotas are bought by the good people of Bath (need the commission to pay for the race fees!).

How was Mallory on Sunday? We have no Sky at present so couldn't watch it on Motors TV. ☹️

The day didn't start well - a car crashed into an electricity pylon in the next village at 3am that morning (nothing to do with the racing!), so there was no power at the circuit all day.

Once we got going however, the racing was really good. Got stuck behind a Tiger in the first race, usual story of being faster round the corners, but he'd pull away on the straight. However got the jump on him at the start of the second race and made up 6 positions to win the class.

The MotorsTV coverage was good in general, but they focused on the front of the race so there was little to see of anyone below about 6th on the grid.

The day was considered a success though, there is talk of doing 6-8 live TV events in the same way next year.

Yes, will be at Brands on Sunday for the Intermarque, plus the next two Lydden events.

I know we're in with the TVRs this weekend, was a bit frustrating racing them at Snetterton given their power advantage on the straights *eek* (at least for the V8s) but things should be a bit more even at Brands cause most of them arn't too hot on the bendy bits. (Only 1 of them beat me at Cadwell)

Have you entered?

John
