stevefoster
Pair of 300 or 325lb front springs for Bilstein (width 2.25") damper. Also thinner than my current 19mm ARB. The 5/8" one for wide track would suit. Steve email: speedy.steve@ukonline.co.uk My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. Chelspeed
Spring diameters are quoted as ID, inside diameter. The normal road bilsteins use 1.9 inch ID springs which are pretty unusual in the motorsport world. The race bilsteins use the much more common 2.25 inch ID springs. If you're not sure which you have, the road bilsteins have non adjustable spring seats as standard (but you can buy bolt on adjuster kits) the race bilsteins are bigger diameter (about 2.25 inch oddly enough...) and come with the body itself threaded for an adjustable spring seat. Which are you after? I know I had some 1.9 inch ID 300lb/in springs at one time but I flogged a load of stuff a while ago, I'll check. Oh and do you need a normal width arb or one for a wide track? I've got an 18mm normal track bar thats going spare.
stevefoster
I have the adjustable height dampers not the kit add on. Wide track ARB. Steve My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. Mim
Steve, I have your side impact bar to one side waiting for collection. (When is the next Pheonix meet?) I also have a couple of sets of springs taken of the Bilsteins which could be of interest. 1pair - 290lb 1 pair - 320lb both 10.5" x 2.25 ID Let me know if of use? clarkey
I've got some 300lb 1.9" springs, a 0.5" ARB (orange bush), 215lb 2.25" rears, 180lb 1.9" rears and some 1.9" helper springs. Doesn't help you too much though, I guess.....
Peter Carmichael
I have some 2.25 ID 325lb.in springs. They are 8 inches long. They went on the car just before the SLipstream Oulton park trackday and they came off it last night.
stevefoster
Right chaps. I currently have Front:- 2.25" inner dia, and 5" long (compressed) spring. I have 2" more adjustment for longer springs. So I guess 8" springs will fit. Rear:- 2.25" inner dia, 12" long (compressed) spring. I have 1.25" more adjustment for shorter springs and only 0.5" for longer. I don't know what the lengths of my springs are uncompressed. Peter, it sounds like your fronts might fit but would give me no lowering capacity.... Mim, The side impact bar yes. The next meeting is Next Thursday. I can't be there but I could nominate an agent to meet you and do the deal. Let me know if you can make it. As for the springs I am not sure 10.5" would fit on the front. The lb sounds about right at 290 for me. I can't see that my damper platforms can possibly be extended... Clarkey, is the 0.5" ARB for wide track? I think it would be a good companion for Peters 325lb'ers... What do you think Peter? Steve email: speedy.steve@ukonline.co.uk My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. clarkey
Yes. 0.5 ARB is for widetrack. I work in Basingstoke and live in Maidenhead so quite local to you. I used 300lb springs with the 0.5 ARB. Personally I preferred 250lb springs with a 5/8" ARB, but each to their own....
stevefoster
Hmmm. As yet I am not decided... This is mainly for track use.... Will let you know what I decide.
