Starter Kit Conformity Certificate

If you are after a certificate of newness for vehicle registration on a new plate, that can only be supplied with a complete kit (with engine, gearbox, rear axle and diff) otherwise Caterham cannot prove that the car is built entirely from new components.

With a starter kit, Caterham only supply a chassis so you can source any old engine and hence would require a 'Q' plate (with no certificate from Caterham).

I am trying to get enough information to know if it is possible to obtain a french authorization to use the car on open road if I buy a starter kit directly from CAT UK and build my S7 in France with new and used parts (engine, axle, ...).

Do you have any idea on this point ?

Joboulay, It all depends how the Caterham is homologated in France but i doubt that u can use s'hand parts and even if you buy the most important parts at Caterham ( new ) then the French importer must sign your homologation papers, and since there is nothing in it for him i doubt he ever will.

anyway i hope you succeed *thumbup*
