No support vehicle or contingency trailer for this epic. CaterBram Posted April 27, 2010 Share Posted April 27, 2010 David, There is a faint glimmer of hope that Caterbram 2 will be up and running for Llandow & llys-y-fran so the support vehicle may be there after all. Fancy helping to reinstall the engine on Tuesday & Wednesday nights next week 😬 Quite proud of managing to actually get the car stripped and engine & gearbox out with just me and Mat. Hopefully Rebuilding with Dave McFarlane on Sunday / Monday and reinstalling on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Must be mad...... 😬 Q469 WET, 1990 1690 Xflow Long Cockpit in Ali except for the red bits. CaterBram Posted April 30, 2010 Share Posted April 30, 2010 Well the engine is rebuilt in a form which should hopefully last until the summer when I can look at upgrading the piston's and AP Bolts. Looks like it was a piston ring which had failed and had melted the side of the piston and some damage to the cylinder, looks like it has honed out and the engine was rebuilt last night. Need to think about long term fix through as the pistons & bores arn't fantastic. Dave, If your around on Sunday afternoon or Monday i'd appreciate some assistance in putting her back together. 😬 Q469 WET, 1990 1690 Xflow Long Cockpit in Ali except for the red bits.
