Just about to go for a blat and my coil has packed in....having problems sourcing from a motor factor as they're asking me what the original car would have been ???

I have a 1990 1700 Xflow Supersprint....anyone know what the answer is (or model of Coil fitted)...mine's too knackered to read any serial numbers etc !!

☹️

If they need to know a vehicle, tr one that had a crossflow fitted, e.g. Mk I of II Escort. A mini (original) one would probably do. Mind you, you need to establish whether a ballast resistor is fitted. Any decent motor factor should be able to help you out.

Ditch the coil *wink* go MegaJolt. If this idiot can do it, then anyone can, and the results are really worth it. Solid idle, far fewer misfires, improved fuel consumption and much better torque from 1800rpm and up. Worth it. *thumbup*

Another *thumbup* for Megajolt, and Alex is right, if he can do it, anyone can 😬

well worth a few weekends puzzling over the wiring diagrams etc... there are a few of us on here that have done the conversion and can offer advise.

Cheers all ...as you'll see from the thread above this I'm fighting on two fronts (coil and oil !!!)

One small problem after another.....oil leaks..... thought I'd left all this behind when I sold my series landrover

Dad?

Yes son ?

Why does Uncle Martin always smell of engine oil ?
