Eugene
Just as a question - what's the normal oil pressure for a Zetec? When cold my old Xflow mechanical gauge on the new Zetec shows 100psi, dropping to 50psi when warm. As things really get up to running temp I get about 80psi when revs are high, and about 40 on idle. What do others get? Don't see a problem, just wondering... Small Boy - with Loud Toy! allen
Sounds a little high when cold, but I guess it's a brand new engine? My 1800 zetec shows 80 to 90 and I don't rev it over 2000 rpm till there's some heat in the oil, warm figures seem similar to mine - I don't know what pressure the relief valve is set at but I've not noticed it operate. philwaters
Sorry, my dash readout is in bar... 5.2 when cold and revving, 4.7-4.8 tickover 4.8 when warm and revving, down to about 2.3 at tickover. Phil Waters

Eugene
All do seem to be in the same ball-park... Question: what oil do you use? Small Boy - with Loud Toy! Co-founder of the BOG Club See Eugene here and see what I do here
philwaters
Comma fully-synth 10w-40. I know they say 5w-30 for the Zetec, but I've never had an issue with 10w-40. The only stuff I have had an issue with was Mobil 1 - which was just too thin. Phil Waters
Eugene
Yep, I'm on Comma 10w-40 too. Think it's just a tight/new engine... But boy, does it go! 😬 Small Boy - with Loud Toy!
