EFA
As its not shown on the parts CD, I have a question regarding the 30 litre bag tank. The box into which it fits is marginly larger than the std ally tank, and the 1994 on diagnol bolts which secure the tank via an angled rail are not long enough. Is there a fitting kit for this tank box whihc I am missing, or do I just need go buy some M6 studding and make some longer bolts???? Rob Walker
Arnie, I recently rebuilt a VX race car for a mate and the bag tank was secured with two metal bands that go around the tank , the bands have a bolt and nylock nut to tighten up on the tank and are welded to the chassis under the tank. The box that contains the bag is very flimsy and IMO would distort if clamped using the angle clamp. RiF
Arnie, What is the advantage of a bag tank? Should I be thinking of this for my new car spec? Is K2RUM repaired yet? Richard in France
murph7355
Safety only. If you get hit these tend not to gush fuel everywhere should the impact be around the fuel tank area. Some are also slightly larger (but FA's would appear to be 6l smaller) and, I think, able to be positioned slightly differently. I think fuel gauges are a problem with them though...
