jakeandlizzy
I have acquired a 4-2-1 SLR (VHPD) exhaust (the primaries and collector) for a bargain and now want to fit it to my 1.6 with a standard (non-VVC/VHPD) head...will there be any problems? Also, I need a can for this! Does anyone have one they want to get rid of or any recommendations for suppliers? I would prefer one with a CAT of course, but I suppose I could always borrow someone's CAT bypass for that special day of the year
Support Team Shaun_E Posted March 29, 2010 Support Team Share Posted March 29, 2010 Depends on how old the primaries are. Primary 4 on early 4-2-1s may well foul the starter motor. Later ones were shaped differently to clear it. For a CAT silencer you could talk to Simon at 7tips as they have a new solution. Alternatively Powerspeed are fairly popular on here and most other exhaust manufacturers will be able to supply a CAT silencer. jakeandlizzy
Thanks for the help everyone and the warning about the heat on the starter so I think I will wrap that primary alone if it is the older style...anyone have a scrap of wrap left over from a project and put some protection over the starter of course.
