GJH
I am building a Roadsport 150 SV with standard brakes. While fitting one of the rear calipers I noticed that the brake pad fitted next to the piston was not sitting correctly. On closer inspection I noticed that the recesses in the piston were not vertical but were rotated by about 10 degrees so that the lug on the pad did not sit in the recess. I have tried rotating the piston without any success although I was reluctant to use too much force. Do the pistons turn, if so what is the best way to do it - do I need a special tool? Any help /suggestions gratefully received.
Drumster
Yes, the piston does turn, but you'll find it easier with a 'wind-back' tool like this.. If you don't want to buy, then see if anyone at your local meet can lend you one.
