Ivaan
For the sprint series, is it required / adviseable to pad the petty strut? I've never fitted mine before. Clive
Area Representative Richard Price Posted March 20, 2010 Area Representative Share Posted March 20, 2010 Clive, I don't use any padding on the petty strut, and don't recall seeing anyone else with padding either.
Matthew Willoughby
Having just had a look at some photos from last year it seems that quite a few people with Caged roll bars have paddiing on their petty struts. Those with the older style FIA bars do not tend to bother as the petty strut is located further from the driver's head. Have a look at the pics here to get an idea of what others do. Ivaan
Thanks Richard. Matthew. So long as it's not a reg requirement, I'll fit the strut and see how it feels. Cheers, Clive
Team Escargot
Fitted mine with padding (Caged) - mind you its an SV so theres more room for the pilots head to flail about Nick
Offspring
I have padded my petty strut bolts simply to stop crashing my crash helmet when putting it in the passenger footwell - after doing a run.
