Anthony Micallef Posted August 16, 2002 Share Posted August 16, 2002 I checked the coolant level for the first time today (I know I should have checked sooner). The expansion bottle was empty! Now the question is can I just fill it up or will there now be air in the system. Im off to the factory tomorrow morning and im hoping to just buy some Comma Coldstream and fill up the expansion bottle. Any advice would be appreciated. Fred Posted August 16, 2002 Share Posted August 16, 2002 fill the header tank to the seam line on the bottle start car put cap on tight open heater valve run till up to temp fan will then kick in after that let it cool down and check level in header tank all should be ok . I went to the factory yesterday and bought some coolant. I filled up the expansion tank and checked the level this morning, it had only gone down a little so I topped up again. Can you tell me what effect opening the heater valve has. Should I do what you advise or do you think it may be ok now?
