Lotus Elan 2+2 for restoration

A friend of my father is selling his 2+2 (not a 130S), if I wasn't moving house this year I would have been tempted but have decided to pass. He describes it as:

 

Complete but in pieces with a new chassis, re-machined engine for assembly etc, with lots of other new bits

I bought one of these in almost the exact condition this one is described and at the same price a couple of years back.

Got great support on Elan.net and learned loads. Got it up to MOT readiness then sold on as the finishing bits were taking the car to a "more than it's worth" level ☹️

 

Having said that though, we have been in recession since and +2 prices are still creeping ever upwards..........approaching baby elan prices in some cases.

 

At that price you can't really lose and would probably get your money back in parts if the project stalled

 

Good luck with it ...it has to be done
