Ian Barkley Posted August 16, 2002 Share Posted August 16, 2002 There is a slight seeping from the offside of the sump on my 2002 Academy car. It has not lost enough to need topping up, I have gently tried tightening the bolts but am a bit nervous of stripping threads. What torque setting should the sump bolts have? Should I just buy a drip tray and ignore it until the sump next has to be removed? Any suggestions/advise please Ian Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Johnty Lyons Posted August 16, 2002 Share Posted August 16, 2002 Exactly where on the off side Ian these don't normally leak and oil has a pertensity to appear to be coming from one place but actually be from somwhere quite different i.e. oil pump gasket/ cam oil seals/front pulley seal.It trickels down behind the timing cover and appears at the sump line. jj N.I.
