Trevor Phillips
I am awaiting a shipment from QED of missing parts - namely the throttle positioning sensor and the air temperature sensor. Question is - can you safely fire up engine with these missing? Not worried that it won't run properly - just to test oil/water/fuel system for leaks under pressure. We are pushed for time with a race on Saturday and need to know we can at least start the thing whilst we sit around waiting for the parts to arrive tomorrow. Jason Plato
You can only crank over without these ,I dont think it will run without a pot , as the ecu wont be able to read its throttle site , you can run without the air sensor connected , but obviously you wont get any correction . Why not buy them from a rover dealer or a scrapper ?? - if you are using the std loom . Dave
Trevor Phillips
It's a VX engine. I gathered from QED that the throttle pot is relevant to how the engine was originally mapped.
