Ken Gibson
I have been offerred a set of these, I assume they are the same as the VHPD items? Are they as good as/better than say Jenvey? It's for the winter project, VVC head etc...
Roger King
If they are the later type 'direct to head' throttle bodies, they are a bit better made than the Jenveys, but in our experience they have terrible running problems at idle and very light throttle. This appears to be caused by the fact that the butterflies are so far from the valves. The Jenveys, on the other hand, are more like a carburettor in the positioning of the butterflies and are MUCH better behaved at light throttle in our experience. To some extent, this will be affected by cam choice, etc, but we are by no means the only tuning people to encounter the same problem. We would use the Jenveys out of choice and so do people like Peter Carmichael, whose power figs aren't that shabby.
oilyhands
You got there before me Roger.. I'd echo Rogers comments, the Jenvey DTH also have smaller bores where the body meets the head which allows them to be tailored for any port entry shape/size. Unfortunately the Exige ones are the same profile as the VHPD head, if you are fitting them to a lesser head or one with smaller port entries then you will have a large step between the TB and the head... this is not easy to remove with the head on. Ken Gibson
Can't get clearer/better advice than that...Jenveys it is then! Thanks Roger & oily
F355GTS
Would they be a better bet than the orignal VHPD TB's with the swan neck to the head assuming fitting to a VHPD Mark

Julian Thompson
Mark - Yes, they're definately less tortuous in the manifold than the originals. I can confirm that my car, equipped with these new bodies, has an awful idle using MEMS management which simply isn't capable of stabilising the engine, unlike the Emerald M3DK, which most definately IS!
