CaterBram
The MSA 2010 Regs state :- 1.3.6. Protective Padding. Where the driver’s or codriver’s bodies or crash helmets could come into contact with the safety cage, non-flammable padding should be provided for protection (1.5.6). When I search rould I come accross the FIA standards 8857-2001 type A padding and flame retardent Non FIA Approved Padding. What do we actually need to satisfy the requirements of the scruiteneers and the regulations... Q469 WET, 1990 Caterham 1690 Crossflow Long Cockpit in Ali except for the red bits. Alan Bowler
I use this stuff: here The FIA stuff is: here The cheap stuff is softer. I'm sure there are good arguments why you should use the hard stuff, relating to high speed impact with a crash helmet, that I should really think about but try not to. In my extensive (2 year) sprinting career, never had it questioned by a scrutineer. I cover the the petty strut as well. AB
