Need advice on fuel cell

Recommended Posts

I'm putting a Fuel Safe cell in my '97 superlight for safety reasons.

I need to decide which way to ensure I don't have a fuel surge problem on the track.

Should I have the collection tank fabricated into the fuel cell for $200US, of install a separate surge tank? The collection tank would be the easy way, the surge tank takes more work, but seems like a better solution? Any opinions welcomed.

The car is an early superlight, and currently has an ali tank with external fuel pump and suffers fuel surge.

John,

Your tank is likely unbaffled. Unbaffled tanks are for carb cars which (due to lower fuel pressure and the presence of float chambers) are less susceptable to surge

ATL do a fuel cell which takes an in tank pump exclusive to Caterham.

I am trying a foam filled unbaffled tank in my car which will be running by the 22nd Aug witha single external pump. then I can tell you if it works or if I need add a second pump and a swirl pot.
