Milesk
I have just finished building my K series 1.4 to 1.8 conversion. I am re-using the starter motor however the wires are very close to the exhaust so I have shrouded the wires and motor in heat proof type blanket with reflective cover (demon tweeks) 😳 air can flow through as I have left it open at the front I think new starter motors are different - can I do anymore??? Support Team c7trp Posted February 15, 2010 Support Team Share Posted February 15, 2010 I've just come in from the garage having replaced the solenoid (low current) cable as it had melted down to bare copper 😳 Made the new cable a little longer and routed it down, below the starter, keeping the cable as far away from the exhaust as possible. Also used this to try and shield the cable a bit. Milesk
Thanks Tim I think you suggestion of extending the cables underneath is probably the best solution. I seem to take one step forward and three back, also getting lazy. Thanks Miles
