Trevor Phillips
Miraz Are they the same pattern as R500 wheels in Magnesium?
Miraz
They are the older 5 spoke wheels made by KN, not the later MBE R500 wheels - picture here Miraz

jerrypike
hoopy the standard road spec rims have a rounded edge, the race rims have a distinct angle no idea why jerry

Mike C
For what it's worth... I believe that KN changed the design from a non rolled edge to one with a "lip" in order to add strength. If the rim ever gets bent they are REALLY difficult to repair as the "split" rim is actually a welded item requiring a jig to do the job properly. KN have destroyed all the jigs now. I only mention this a someone on this forum may be able to offer a solution to this issue. IMHO the wheels still look the business. Miraz
The jigs have not been destroyed - but they no longer make the rims (of either type) I went up to the factory last week and bought the last of the spare rims which are being welded, polished and fitted to my old centers this week. The jigs were sitting in a storeroom under the ventilation ducts with a pile of spare centers and the last of the rims. The rears will have the later rolled edges, of the three fronts only one has the rolled edges - the spare rear rim is the earlier non-rolled edge type.
