spannermcmlx
To remove the top plate of the gearbox ( 6 speed ) do I just undo the six bolts and give it a gentle tap? It appears to have some sealant under it, what type is this? as it will need to be replaced after. Also, nothing is fastened to this plate that could be dislodged when I take it off is there? Photos of the proceedure would be a help if anybody has any. All this because the level plug won't budge no matter what and I want to change the oil. Martin Erhard
There is a groove machined in the top of the box which has a like a large 'o' ring seal set in it. Beware that the top is not just a flat plate, it has a protrusion which extends down into the box and must be lifted vertically initially to remove it.
