u01rsb
Do they have to be FIA approved for 2010? I have some sparco ones that aren't that I usually wear. I thought 2010 was reccomended and 2011 was mandatory. Just trying to put off the expense for a year! Thanks, Rob
Support Team Shaun_E Posted February 10, 2010 Support Team Share Posted February 10, 2010 Blue book for 2010 has the following in section (S) 9.2.1: Competitors are required to wear flame-resistant gloves (not mitts or gloves with open backs). There is no mention of any FIA standard but FIA approved gloves would guarantee compliance. In the section on Competitor safety there is mention of ISO6940 but in the same section it says that this standard is "advised". Brian - can you confirm this? Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
Simon.Rogers1
Shaun is correct and Nick Alger (Westfield SCC) and a member of the MSA Speed comittee is looking into this as we speak. So far as he is concerned as long as they are Nomex or similar material that meets the ISO standard they comply. I'll confirm when I have more info. Simon
