gee_fin
Recently received this from a supplier- "(snip) ...I do have a quantity of standard Caterham and AP upgrade Caterham pads in RS14 and RS4-2 that I am interested in selling at a very special price if you are interested. If you can give me an indication of how many sets of pads you would be interested in taking I will let you know what price I can do. The more I can sell the better the price I can do. (/snip)" I don't need any myself but I'm happy to put in an order should anyone want a set. Any takers? Cheers, Graeme. ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport gee_fin@hotmail.com / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk
stevefoster
What would a set of rears for standard disk brakes be going for? Steve My racing pics here Hants (North) and Berkshire area club site here
gee_fin
Here's the prices - "I also have an overstock on some of these part numbers that I need to quickly offload at even better prices, I can offer you the following prices and quantities only till these quantities remain in stock and I would like to let these go in one job lot. E1163 RS4-2 x 5 sets E3102 RS14 x 25 sets E1163 RS14 x 15 sets " Having never bought Caterham pads before I don't know what the usual costs for these are. Can anyone shed any light? Cheers, Graeme. ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport gee_fin@hotmail.com / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk Edited by - gee_fin on 13 Aug 2002 22:10:
greg
I'd be interested in a set for the uprated AP fronts, and a set for "normal" dedion rears. Greg, Q 86 NTM (Green 185BHP XF)
murph7355
If anyone could confirm whether these are Pagid "blues" for AP big brakes it'd be handy...presumably the 1163 marked ones are matching sets for front and rear?

murph7355
Which are you running PC? I've had advice that blues are good on the front and stds on the rear? And the price seems cheap (I thought they were three figures usually)...
gee_fin
Just a contact from some brake company, UK importers for Pagid. If enough people want sets I can organise it, otherwise I can just pass on the contact to whoever wishes. Sounds as though he wants to sell each lot in one go mind you. R2D2
Are any of these sizes suitable for the Alcon caliper that James Whiting supplies? If so I would like a set of "blues"
gee_fin
Hmm, seems they will only deal with traders :( So no individual sets are available. It would have to be a bulk purchase on our part so we'd have to cover a job lot. I'll forward on the questions...... ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport gee_fin@hotmail.com / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk
F355GTS
Graeme I'll take a set for AP uprated fronts and standard rears Mark
Peter Carmichael
I am using RS14s. These are more of a race pad than blues, but this hasn't been a problem in use, apart from a propensity to lock up as they come in from cold. Pagids are normally ~120 per axle set, so my guess is that the SETS that Graeme decribes are a caliper set perhaps, not an axle set. Worth checking before people find they are in for double the money they imagined. gee_fin
Here we go Answers to the questions - > Are any of these sizes suitable for the Alcon caliper that James Whiting > supplies? "Is the Alcon caliper a 2 pot or 4 pot caliper? The E3102 fits the standard Caterham caliper, but the pad shape also fits some Alcon 2 pot calipers also. The AP upgrade 4 pot pad also fits some Alcon 4 pot calipers." > Are these the Pagid "blues" I hear about for the fronts, and Pagid carbon > metallics for the rear "The RS4-2 compound is the blue compound and is carbon based. The RS14 is ceramic based and has a higher friction level than the blue compound. The RS14 compound is sold by Caterham in their HP brake upgrade kit for race use." > Are the prices for one set as in one corner, or, one set as in two > calipers? "The price is for an axle set of pads, ie front or rear." > Can you confirm that the 1163s will fit the AP big front brakes and std > Caterham rears? "The E1163's only fit the standard rear caliper, E1265 is the bigger AP 4 pot front." And onto prices, the initial prices were for a Demon Tweeks style order and minus VAT. Here are the prices we could get them for, they include VAT (but not postage) and are for a set (ie. an axle). PAGID No Fitment Price per Set E1163 - RS4-2 Caterham std rear £81.89 E1163 - RS14 Caterham std rear £90.62 E3102 - RS4-2 Caterham std front £96.78 E3102 - RS14 Caterham std front £106.09 E1265 - RS4-2 AP upgrade front £104.23 E1265 - RS14 AP upgrade front £113.53 E1363 - RS4-2 AP upgrade rear £96.78 E1363 - RS14 AP upgrade rear £106.09 If I can order 25 sets that comes down 10%. Not sure how that compares with Demon Tweeks/Caterham but I seem to remember them coming in at around ~£160. I'll wait for a few days to see who is interested and then email those who have expressed their wish for a set. Feel free to drop me a line on gee_fin@hotmail.com if you have any questions or require further info. StewartG
Don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of Pagids, I don't think you can get better albeit at a price but be aware that after a few miles they squeak and squeal in the most anti social way imaginable, especially during light braking. clarkey
I disagree. Mine were fine. No squeaks.
