Martin Erhard Posted February 6, 2010 Share Posted February 6, 2010 The caphead bolt through wishbone/damper bush ('97 deDion widetrack). Are there subtle differences in these? Replacement bolts from CC look the same but are tighter and won't screw in fully. The unthreaded part looks just a tad thicker maybe? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Englishmaninwales Posted February 6, 2010 Share Posted February 6, 2010 The capheads on my 94 car are 7/16" ( i think) but I needed a narrower head than on the later lower wishbone. Bio Posted February 6, 2010 Share Posted February 6, 2010 Just done this job this morning The bolt is a 5/16 unf plated bolt 2 3/4 inch long Compare a new bolt with the old one to check diamensions Check that the recess in the wishbone where the bolt head goes is clean and also as the thread should be locktited the thread in the wishbone may need cleaning out with a tap Use plenty of Copper grease on the shank and locktite on the thread and do up to 20 Nm Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
