As far as I can tell my engine does not seem to suffer with oil surge. I have a low pressure warning light fitted which I have tested for accuracy and all seems fine. However when used hard i.e track or sprint i get slight tappet rattle. I'm putting this down to aeration of the oil. I plan to fit a ds system asap but I have a problem with chassis clearance around the front of the sump where the external pump is fitted. On my chassis(90 dedion) there are two diagonal tubes running rearwards from a cross tube just in front of the crank pulley to the side rails just behind the engine mountings. Are these tubes fitted on latter chassis ?

 

Also the alternator is mounted on the r/h side under the carbs and the oil filter housing is below again so i'm thinking of mounting the pump on the l/h side below the water pump but again the chassis tube is in the way. Any other ideas?
