Thanks that was exactly what I was looking for. Except it doesnt seem like I can order on line. I'll have to give them a ring tomorrow unless someone can tell me another site.

Jessops (here or Calumet here who are the Uk distributors of Manfrotto.

 

But as the Count say you then need some sort of head. Some stuff about it on a previous thread here

jessops got me a superclamp in 48 hrs

i've mounted mine direct to the clamp with a 1/4" whit allen bolt through one of the off-centre holes (needs taking out to 6 or 6.5 mm) limits you to horizontal pics and i'll do my best to keep it that way!

Jessops are quite a bit pricier than B-Hague. Or were a year ago.

 

Word of warning - if you have one of the taller video cameras, keep a close eye on it.

 

I've got a Sony DCR-PC9 and it now has a stress crack most of the way around the case from vibration.

 

I've invested in a bullet camera head which seems to work very well. It's also less likely to get hit by stones, being just 21mm in diam, and can be installed in many more locations. Costs 150GBP including a remote battery pack and the leads you need to connect it, all in a hard carry case.

I bought my camera clamp from B-Hague too, can't fault the service, had the clamp the next day, sent by recorded delivery.

Manfrotto is a very exotic name for something so mundane as a camera clamp. I dread to think what it means in English.
