CSR200 Sump

Has anyone replaced their CSR200 sump?

 

I am more interested if you has problems with the supply of the the sump from Caterham than how to fit etc.

 

Did you get a sump that looked corrent only to find there had beensome internal changes?

This is what I am trying to find out

 

Its a long story but briefly my car has been at Caterham after an accident since May 2009 and the reason for the delay is the sump

 

I am trying to get to the bottom of why a replacement sump is so hard to get hold of and have been told by CC that the design was changed

There are two sump designs, Caterham Midlands explained them to us. If I remember correctly on early engines you can not just drop the sump off as it is partly retained by other fittings at the front of the engine.

CSR's rerequire the engine removed to remove the sump. CSR race cars had a modified sump fitted in 2008 to enable an external tank to be used. It is a different sump to the dry sump on the C400 cars.

I assume we are talking about wet sumps here ?. If so its the Raceline sump isnt it ?

The CSR sump I looked at when visiting Titan had an internal scavange pump driven by an extended timing chain.

A neat but expensive solution.

the csr is dry sumped - 200 or 260. I think Mic 😶‍🌫️ knows what's what on this one...
