Jason Plato
Re: Tonneau covers by Simon Lambert on Thu, Mar 11 '10 2:38 pm We now have approval from the MSA to continue with the tonneau covers in their current guise. This situation is the cause of the delay in the Superlight regs, which should be available very soon here is my Duratec R .... Simon.Rogers1
I have spoken to Simon and this is a specific exemption for the Caterham race series' only. And it only applies to the Caterham manufactured half tonneau. It does not cover after market tonneaus or any other race or speed series. taffyracer
I suspect it will spill over, M7's now have it and I don't expect to ahve a problem in Britsports next weekend, a bit of FIA padding is all that's needed and to be honest it's probably a good thing as I kept whacking my elbow on it anyway! Simon.Rogers1
The rule affects all cars not just the 7. Simon Lambert has secured an exemption for the series that run under the BRSCC banner. He is currently awaiting confirmation from the MSA that he can issue the letter to us as a Club for our members to hold and show scrutineers at our speed events.
